I feel like you should pay more than you have to especially when the cheap antivirus software brands do the same things as all the others do. You can get antivirus software for a fraction of the price you will pay for the name brands.
I always advise caution when visiting sites you are not familiar with especially if you don’t currently have antivirus protection. I have actually had programs begin to download without my knowledge or permission. One was even disguised as antivirus software. If this ever happens remove the program immediately and delete cookies as well.
There may even be a couple of good sites that offer free virus protection. More often than not you will find that it is a free trail or scan. After that you will need to pay for and download the full version to have the protection you need. A free trail may allow you to try out the program and see if you like it though.
Once you decide which antivirus software you want you should remember that you may want to customize the setting on it to allow your favorite web sites. It may also slow you computer down some especially when it is actually doing a can. Most of this software comes with customer support and is fairly easy to use.
Without antivirus software it is very easy to get a virus or spyware on you computer. Once you do it can be very hard to fix. If you are like me you can’t afford to be without your computer while it is being fixed. It is usually better to be safe than sorry with expensive equipment.
Some sites that have been recommended to me are pctools, stopzilla, cloudmark, and webroot. These are but a few of the many to choose from.
