The Speedy Gonzalez Bandwidth Fix

Got slow internet? Well, it’s based on a number of factors that reduce your bandwidth speed. For example, your bandwidth speed can decrease based on spyware and adware clogging up your connection or from neighbors stealing your connection. It can also derive from uncountable events like weather and a poorly functioning network.

You ask, are there something wrong with your computer or is it my poor internet carrier? Good question and there’s only one true way to find out. You need to measure your bandwidth speed.

So you want to measure your bandwidth speed? It’s simple, just log onto the net, and turn off any programs that might interfere or connect to the internet as well as any other computers on the modem. Visit a bandwidth speed testing site and follow their instructions.

These test sites are easy to find and will send you a moderately sized file from their server. Do not delete or decline this file, because it’s the way the site tests your bandwidth. The file tests your bandwidth by judging how fast your computer receives and downloads the file. The speed is measured in mega or kilobits per second.

Gauge the results, but do not take them to heart. Sometimes your bandwidth is affected by the weather outside, the number of people accessing the web, or your internet carrier is performing some type of upgrade to the server. Try the same test at a later date and time. Compare the two tests.

If both test results return positive than you are in great shape. Your connection speed works properly and the times when it does act slowly, it derives from uncontrollable outside factors.

But if the bandwidth connection performs poorly, you deserve to feel unhappy about your internet provider. Never jump the gun though, as it may not be so much the web provider, but more your malware or your network card and computer which cannot keep up with the speed the data is transferred.

Research and find out ways you can upgrade your computer or network card to reach a more acceptable speed. Consider other upgrades that guarantee faster internet speeds. And if you are still unhappy with the bandwidth speed, I recommend you try a new internet provider.
